A day in the life of a GHOST actor... So today was just a normal Friday in November around 19 degrees, light fog, apart from I was In the heart of a city centre with a population of around 2.6 million people. Oxford Road, Manchester. The home to many brilliant actors, musicians, writers and Directors. The only difference is that this particular weekend happens to be the weekend that My girlfriend and I are visiting friends. So everything is going brilliantly, and everything is going just as planned, we have a brilliant day out shopping and also a long night on the town.
Along comes Saturday morning and I am woken up to the sound of the modern day technology, an iPhone! Though this is no alarm, it's a phone call from an unknown number, unknown to me this phone call is about to end my fairytale weekend.
So I answer the call; this person who I don't know greets me by my name and knows everything about my career, he asks me if I can attend and perform a part of the script at an audition on the Sunday, I ask for more details and he explains to me the job that potentially lies ahead, everything sounds to amazing just to let slip by, so I explain to my friends that this is an opportunity that I cannot miss and that I have to cut my stay short and leave Manchester to head back to London early Sunday morning. They all understand and they wish me all the best.
So we pack our bags and head off on our 3 hour 30 minute journey. I then receive another phone call confirming that I will be attending and that I no longer have to perform a part of the script, he now explains that the audition is going to go on our look and the way we sound? What a way to depict who gets a job.
We arrive in London, and then have to catch a taxi to the location of the audition, when I get there I finally meet the person who I feel I have been friends for a lifetime with, he talks me through what is going to happen and what I should expect. I walk through the audition doors and there sitting about 4ft away from me are four people who are about to predict my future. We sit down and talked for a while about what he thinks, what ive done? And what he wanted? He then told me that actors are like ghosts they come, go, are important to some - but not to others and they can be replaced in an instant.
This is not a single day in the life of a GHOST actor, this is a career that takes a lifetime to perfect, to some people your be right to some your be wrong, but success keeps you going, the disappointment makes you push harder next time. Your just a blank canvas that an artist is drawing up. Sometimes it's not what you can do or know, it's about how you look! This Is a hard craft, but an outstanding thrill and rush.

Social Networking
So I had a conversation yesterday to a very high up Agent in the TV and FILM industry. It had my brain ticking over and really had me thinking. We discussed networking to an extent that I have never thought of before, he discussed his thoughts with me and we had a very good conversation. It all started when he asked if I use social networking and also do I network about jobs/auditions etc... I explained to him that i do use websites such as; Facebook, twitter but mainly for social reasoning such as flicking through people's pages and catching up on others people's lifestyles. Then he began to tell me what he uses it for. He began with telling how if he has someone trying to audition for him on the agency he will use Facebook and Twitter just to get a bit of background information and to see whether he can flick through people's images and see what they are like outside of there performing lifestyle, he uses his Facebook as a way of business instead of social and he finds that it really helps to depict whether he takes that person or not. Now I began to think that was very wrong and that it was a very bad misjudgement and that's gone against everything I've ever been told, for example 'not to judge a book by it's cover'. Although I then began to think, if you want to portray yourself on Facebook in a bad way with bad comments and bad pictures then you only can then expect to have a bad outcome and although it is all well and good having a Facebook page or Twitter page you need to really watch out for the privacy settings and make sure you keep a close eye on the things that go on and off of your Facebook because you never know who is looking. When an agent is looking at your page if they do? They want to see that you are a friendly, easy going guy/girl they need to know that they will be able to work with you. If you only have bad views on there it isn't going to do you any favours and they won't want to work with you!
Now after that started me off I then began to think back to when I was in my very early teens and I remember being on websites such as bebo and myspace. When I think back to that though I can never remember myself or anyone else in fact being that bothered about it, it got me thinking why has social networking suddenly become something that is so advance in technology? It has now become a huge part of everyone's day, and everyone uses it, some people get in to some big trouble and it caused to some people committing suicide and even some major bullying that lead to gang violence and even deaths, but it is still massively big with over 800 million subscribers, in 70 different languages.
That got me to the conclusion that with over 800 million people just on Facebook everyone must use social networking for different reasons but will it replace meetings and phone calls in the future?
Comments are key guys? Thanks

1st Blog
Hey guys sorry I haven't blogged yet. I have currently been working on SKINS (E4) I'm playing the part of a leader in a football firm/gang which has been very exciting. Filming days have been long 7am-7pm. I will be uploading some pictures very soon. I wasn't able to make the 1st module session due to filming so any advice would be brilliant. As I am slightly confused in what I have to do. Thanks guys.
